Launch of the web-site:
- The PAHH web-site was launched in March 2002.
- It was launched by sponsorship from the Ascension Historical Committee (as known then),
and the Ascension Historical Society (as known now) has remained the sponsor.
Web-site graphic / logo:

The graphic, at the head of each of these web-pages, was designed by Harry Ahlas of Berkeley, California, for the launch of the web-site. The graphic has stayed in place since then.Verbal Description

- This web-site has received an average of about two thousand "original visits" each month since the launch — which is a modest estimate.
What are Original Visits?
Original Visits Explained:
- "Original visits" exclude any successive page hits by the same individual.
"Original visits" also exclude robots, such as the Google search engine robots and others, that come to us regularly.
If all of those were included, then the statistics would be many, many times greater.
- In this way, the "original visits" should indicate a number of individual people who visit us.
- Our calculation of about two thousand each month on average is a deliberately modest estimate.
The Freeze
The web-site was "frozen" in September 2007.
Meaning:
- The material in this website will remain available for use here.
- Regular updates will stop, however:
- some material does not require any updating, such as the memoirs and histories, each already fixed at its own publication date.
- other material would benefit from regular updating, such as the list of regional groups, the lists of resources for history studies, and some other lists — all of which have been frozen at 2007.
- anything that needs frequent maintenance has been closed, specifically the Message Board.
Why? — the reason:
- We must focus on our activity on our regional groups.

There are many possibilities:
Individuals in cooperation
Imagine the possibilities if some individuals were to cooperate with each other for a national web-site by delegating, so that (for example):
- someone, who is keen on social dynamics, seeks out the groups that are working for local history preservation and liaisons with them to keep the regional groups' web-pages current and accurate …
- someone else, who enjoys publishing, brings more memoirs to light here online …
- someone else, who knows about research methods, takes charge of the history research resources to keep those lists updated for everyone's benefit …
- etc.
An individual alone
Imagine the possibilities for an individual with initiative:
- a person could well take charge of a single section of this web-site, just from personal interest;
- a person might even want to re-create the section … or the site.
Creation anew
It is possible to re-create, re-design, the whole web-site by turning it into (for example) a blog for dynamic interaction across the country — while retaining only the original memoirs by loyalty to the authors.
